Embracing reality is the key message Khongsawat wants to convey. No one can escape from reality as it is a fact widely accepted before life. The dimension of time leads us to live or exist depending on nothing. But nowadays, people adjust, illutate, and deceive themselves to be perfect. What is perfection anyway? The broken sofa illustrates the undeniable truth of growing older through time, getting older time after time. Standing next to the sofa is a young girl in white. These elements depict the contrast clearly. Regardless of adjustment for satisfaction, both existences in the painting show the balance of the world simply.
Key Message from the Artist
So many people struggle to obtain material things that, at times, lead to unhappy lives. This condition raises the question of whether “What is the value of life, existence, and truth?” In the meantime, everything in life is mere illusion or fictitiousness, created to satisfy endless lust.
From Khongsawat’s point of view, the truth is not in the present world anymore, but is to exist under the inevitable rules of time.
