As a young child, he was surrounded by art as his house was fully decorated with artworks. His hobbies included attending galleries and viewing art wherever he traveled to — this formed his inspiration and built his passion to make modern art that people would want to decorate their homes with.

Pol-Asa thoroughly enjoyed competitions as a child – introducing his works to both national and international contests allowed him to be more creative through the feedback that were given. With the ever-growing society that we live in, trends are fast-paced and constantly evolving – keeping this concept in mind, the artist hopes that his work is able to resonate with audiences of the modern generation. His modern contemporary artworks that draws fantasy and imagination.

Concept

Pol-Asa likes to refer to his creative mind and imagination to produce his artworks in many forms. The process of printing and its technique therefore makes his work a two-dimensional visual that incorporates modernity.

“My first few artworks were print and I intended my work to reflect how many of our modern world issues are solved with the development of technology and innovative advancements; although proven to be beneficial, my viewpoint is that it is quite interestingly destructive,” Pol-Asa explains. From the perspective of the artist, these modern alterations have caused the demolishment of nature and the environment. This specifically targets insects and its many species that have had their habitat destroyed for the benefit of humans. He suggested that it may look unimportant and irrelevant to human life but on the contrary, insects play a crucial role in our lifestyle. “In order to build sympathy for these creatures, I drew them from a weaker perception. What if we were weaker than them? I made them fearful, terrifying — ready to destroy us, just as we are ready to destroy them,” He states.

Subsequently, his work has developed in terms of content — they now revolve around interspecies friendship. Communicating the subject matter of human behaviour towards other species and the natural adaptation towards other living creatures. His work became a concept that leans towards love, warmth and symbolises the life values which remain equal and righteous.
